Bardo Lutheran Church is involved in many local and national ministries and missions. Check out what we are doing and let us know if you would like more information or would like to get involved.

Local Ministries

Confirmation: We provide an Intro to Christianity Class for youth, led by the Pastor. The vows of confirmation are a separate event afterwards if youth decide to follow Jesus and respond to God's grace in Jesus.

Funerals and Weddings: Bardo hosts Christian Weddings and Funerals. Contact Pr. Peter for more information.

Small Group: Throughout the School-Year join a small group hosted by Peter and Emily at the Parsonage on Tuesday Evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM. We are currently studying Matthew for Everybody by N.T. Wright.

Local Missions

Vacation Bible School: A joint ministry of the Tofield Alliance and Bardo Lutheran Churches, the local VBS program serves the children of our community and happens in early July.

Tofield/Ryley and Area Food Bank: May is our focus month for the food bank.  Gifts of food and money will be received. 

Quilting: The Bardo Lutheran Women do quilting. The quilts made are given to a number of organizations to be distributed to people in need.

Hastings Lake Lutheran Bible Camp: Bardo supports the ministry and outreach of the Hastings Lake Lutheran Bible Camp through giving and the promotion of and participation in their events. 

Mustard Seed: Mustard seed supports homeless populations in Edmonton. We collect for them in April and October.

Inner City Pastoral Ministry Lunch: One Sunday each fall we send food and helpers to join with the Inner City Pastoral Ministry as they worship together and provide a lunch following.

National and International Missions

Kyuquot, BC: Since 2009 in cooperation with the BC Mission Boat Society Bardo has visited the Vancouver Island First Nations community of Kyuquot. The team shares the love of Jesus by providing a Kids' Club program and other relationship ministries.

Guatemala: Since 2007 various teams from Bardo have served with Impact Hope Canada, Orphan Outreach and Mano Con Mano to do a variety of construction, kids' and relationship ministry in the areas of Huehuetenango, Nebaj, Xela, Sumpango and El Yalu.

Annual Fundraising

Highway Cleanup: first Saturday in May, cleaning a section of highway east of Tofield

July 1st Breakfast: pancakes and ham at the Hall before the Canada Day parade

Promenade Clean-up: cleaning mainstreet Friday night of the Tofield Rodeo weekend
